Auden's Col Trek

Auden's Col Trek is considered to be an extremely difficult trek. Even experienced trekkers say this. The pass however is additionally observed as the Holy Grail of trips in India. It is beyond question one of the most risky and testing journey in Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. Maybe owing to its difficulty or its location this trek is one of the least explored treks in India. The high elevation mountain pass interfacing Rudugaira Valley and Bhilangna Valley is for the trekkers who are looking to test their limits. Sir John Bicknell Auden originally discovered Auden's Col pass in 1935 and crossed it at last in 1939 and could not be crossed for the next 40 years until another passionate explorer like himself took the challenge and crossed the pass in 1983. The journey contains as much magnificence inside it as it contains dangers for the adventurers' lives. No matter how difficult and challenging this trek may be but the fact that it is embedded with beauties like Rudragaira, Gangotri gathering, Jogin gathering, Bhagirathi gathering and Kedar Dome makes it unrivaled.

Auden's Col journey is extremely hazardous as far as both the nature of the trail and atmospheric conditions are concerned. In a setting where it’s only difficult enough to walk the strong freezing winds in Auden’s Col make it all the more enthralling. After a long hard time of traveling across Auden's Col you'll encounter the glorious Khatling Glacier. The thing about the Khatling Glacier is that it is rooted with number of crevasses some of which are covered with thin sheets of ice making it impossible to spot them and hence pose threat to trekkers’ safety. However, once you make it across the Khatling Glacier, you won’t be able to stop feeling like you’ve won a war, being alive to each moment and each step you took. This trip has given numerous mountain dwellers their share of loss more than it has permitted them to make it through.
